Jazz fans: check out Dusko Goykovich

Post by NoteBoat » November 10th, 2012, 5:00 pm

I sometimes post what I'm listening to on my personal Facebook page. Tonight I was listening to some Miles Davis/Cannonball Adderley (the album "Something Else") and I posted about it.... an old friend responded with a recommendation for the album "Soul Connection" by Serbian trumpeter Duscko Goykovich. I found it on Spotify, and this guy is amazing.

I think he's truly an heir to Miles.

I just love finding new artists....

I think I have never heard him (at least as frontman). There are several recordings on YouTube, there are some tracks of "Soul Connection", that album has great musicians!

I found some live recordings on YouTube: a samba http://youtu.be/xArQopuCBkM and this (probably better) recording with excerpts of the concert http://youtu.be/RE7wNjaF3zU
