Effect Chain

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the Forum and I have a question and it would be great to get some info on the topic.
I've been playing for a while and up to this point I've been using a Line 6 POD XT Live for my effects. Now very recently my PODs display broke because of a little accident in the Band room and now since I've been playing with the thought of getting a proper effect chain anyways I thought that this would be as good of an opportunity as any.
so I will start off with Overdrive, Wah wah, Delay, Tuner, Compressor and Volume pedals.

This is how I thought to se the whole thing up:
Guitar -> Tuner -> Volume -> Wah wah -> Compressor -> Overdrive -> Delay -> Amp

Since I will be using a 2-chanel amp I was also thinking of using the Amps distortion channel as well and my question now was how I would best set that up. so how could I get the amps distortion in there without it being at the end of the entire chain?

Another question would be, since I can still use the effects on my POD, how would the best way be to include it in the effect chain without its sounds being affected too much by the other pedals?

I hope my questions are somewhat understandable and I would really appreciate some info and opinions on the whole thing, or maybe some tips regarding some equipment that you would consider indispensable in such a chain.
