Nice playing, greybeard.
I'm guessing it's not The Peter Gunn Theme by Duane Eddy? :D

Thanks, boxboy.

No, that's exactly what the piece is not :D :D

It's actually from a blues man...................

Let's keep this moving - otherwise I'm going to have to go and secrete myself in my special place.

Next clue:

This is an instrumental by a well-known blues guitarist and was, at one-time, regarded as something that every self-respecting blues guitarist would have in his repertoire. The Peter Gunn section is introduced almost as a bridge and takes the piece out of its basic 12-bar rhythm. Oh, and he shares his surname with 3 or 4 other well-known blues guitarists.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

While the band is often associated with 1970s UK glam rock, this mid-80s song was one of their few US hits.

I'm having trouble, here. I've got J. Geil's Centrefold into my head and can't get past it. :?

This song came out a couple years later ... 1984 I believe. The riff runs under and mirrors the vocal melody.

Sum of the band's song titlez are misspelled in crazee wayz.

Your jogging clue had me stumped. The bagpipes, in conjunction with 70s glam rock had me hareing off in the direction of Bay City Rollers (a Scottish group). I had already had my beady on Slade, but couldn't come up with anything, until I got myself a copy of Run, Runaway.............................

I'll have to think of something and then record it, so maybe tomorrow if not tonight.

I had the same problem greybeard, except for me it was (In a) Big Country. :)
Reading the Wiki page on glam after the clue finally cleared my head.
