Learn to play like the pros in under one hour!! seriously??

Are these things jokes?? How can someone claim to sell this product, saying that for the years the pros have practiced is all insignificant, and you will be able to play like them in under an hour. Anyone try any of these things?? How do they work?

I won't even lie...I've taken a look at some of these poducts. Im sure you can learn something from them, but I don't think you can learn all that in less than an hour. Real practice is what makes you good...

That is the claim and it is quite easily fulfilled.
You will learn how to use a plectrum - pros use plectrums.
You will learn how to finger chords - pros play chords
You will learn a solo or two - pros play solos
etc., etc...........................
"Like" as in "a similar fashion to" - but, then, every guitarist plays "like" a pro, on that basis.
It will NOT teach you how to play as well as a pro, nor will it make you good enough to become a pro.
It is a simple misuse of the English language to make you think that you're going to get something that you're not.

They will tell you the secret that is so ridiculously easy that you will wonder why you didn't think of it before. What do Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Van Halen all have in common? How to Play the Piano

1. Select the right key.
2. Put it in the piano and open it. (Not essential, if you can't play.)
3. Once the piano is fully open, put your fingers on top of the notes.
4. Move your fingers about, making sure they hit the right notes in the correct order.*

*Like a pianist.
For other instruments, the same thing, but without the piano.

Ha, yeah I figured there was some catch. My next question is what's the deal with the people that write in saying it is amazing software??? Haha, they can find that information in maybe 5 minutes with a little bit of online searching.

I think it means that in under an hour you will be able to play just like the pros did when they had been playing for under an hour.

I never went for those programs but i have looked at the absoulute pitch and perfect pitch stuff. Is that really worth anything?

Are They Jokes?

Anytime I look in a Guitar magazine and see a two page ad with the guy that looks like he's stuck in the 80's talking about how easy guitar playing is, I laugh hysterically, so it's quite possible.

I personally would never buy into any of it, even the perfect pitch stuff, i've always found that after a while of practicing your ear training improves.
