Old fashioned blues

Post by KirkD » February 19th, 2010, 10:18 pm

Where can I find lessons (books, video, etc) on how to play really old fashioned blues. Stuff like you hear on Kenny Wayne Shepherd's 10 Days Out, or music like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKpE_R0p ... re=related

and this

http://www.emusic.com/album/Various-Art ... 99477.html

specifically Track 1 - I have to Paint My Face, Track 3 - I Stand and Wonder, Track 15 - Lonely Widower

(I know, I know - you either have the blues or you don't)

Little Brother used to post here on GN regularly; his lessons are terrific:

Here's a review that Nick did:

I suggest his Blues in A Study (down the lessons page) if you are just getting started.

slejhammer,

Those look fantastic! I just gave them a look and listen and I'll most likely follow up there! Thank you!
