Learning Barbershop Quartet Music

Think you can't sing? Think again. Can you hum or sing the pitches as you tune your guitar? Can you sing along with your car radio? You can? Great! Now we know you can sing. It's good to get that out of the way. Come on in and wail away.

Learning Barbershop Quartet Music

Post by Kryogenik » December 6th, 2011, 4:07 pm

Hey guys, this is my first post in the singing board. A few days ago, I saw this video on youtube of Sincere from Music Man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbBITrZa6Ok I decided it would be fun to recorded me singing each of the 4 parts and see how they sound together, but there isn't any free sheet music on the web for it except for a small excerpt I managed to dig up. Do you guys know a good way to transcribe Barbershop Quartet Music? Is there a way to pick out each of the 4 notes? I'm good at learning melodies by ear, but I've only learned single note ones, not ones with 4 notes going on at the same time. Is there a program that can split the audio into seperate parts based on pitch or something like that? Thanks for any help.
