Not sure who this is in reply too. If it is to smokindog are you a member of soundclick? I think you can only stream if not. I am and I see MP3 downloads. Soundclick has not so far been a spam source.

Scratch that, one time I got spam through their "Contact Artist" system and they were right on it when I complained. The offender had created a membership to do his spamming and special headers in the message identified him. I forwarded the email to their abuse@ address and they replied the next day and said he was executed for the offence. They seem very responsible.

I am also weary of joining websites that require my email address, but this one has been a good one.

Great backings. My playing is miles behind that of other people but screw that, gotta start somewhere y'all know? :D

I think it's best to get a mild rock or rockblues backing, that is more open to multiple and diverse styles. As far as I care we use one of Doggies tracks.

Audacity project files are not the audio, but more of a scheme telling Audacity which seperate files to load. For example, if you make an 8-track song and save it as an Audacity file Audacity will create 8 files for each track, and one general Audacity file. Upon loading that file all 8 others are loaded and put together. If you just send the Audacity file your pc has no access to the seperate track files and as such won't load anything.

Well, you could just add the data folder with the audacity file into an archive like Zip or Rar and then send it. But if you ask me this is way too complex. Just let one start, play his stuff, mix it in, send it as MP3 to the next, who plays his bit over it. That way it is easy, we all have control over our own mix, and we can easily hear when we have to fall in so the switching between players is relatively smooth. On my Dmusic site (promedics.dmusic.com) can you hear how it sounds (listen to 'online jam').

If someone has a backing track ready, I would like to post it at my dmusic page where anyone can download it. YOu could send the BT to me via yousendit and I'll post all the final tracks at my dmusic page as well.

Hey gang

Found this forum in my search for something else but the online collabs took my eye.

I have done a couple of online collabs that we thought turned out great but it is proving difficult to find people who know their way around a computer well enough to record their stuff on it. I know there are some hot guitar players around. If we can help with the technical side, just yell.

Here are two of our jam sessions. I laid down the backing track and played a solo over it. Then posted it to the forum for the next player as described in this thread. I have never seen these guys and I live on the other side of the world to some but it sounds like we are all on stage together.

Jazz Jam
Blues Jam

This stuff is relatively new right now. It would be great if we can get a reasonable collection together before everyone is doing it.

regards
Just play til your fingers bleed, then stop when it hits bone...
