SSG 10 Week 35 Windows Open

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11745006

==============Revised Version (not yet recorded)====================

I used to lie in my bedroom alone staring at the ceiling for hours

Couldn’t take much more life was a bore
Stuck in a room with no view
Stuck in a life without you
Waiting, waiting all the time

Couldn’t take much more thoughts were a chore
My wall a mono-chrome blue
Everything old; nothing new
Waiting, waiting all my life for you but

Chorus
With Windows open, wide, wide open
There’s so much to see and do
With Windows open, wide, wide open
I change my wallpaper to match my mood

Windows open, wide, wide open
So much to see and do
Windows open, wide, wide open
I change my wallpaper to match my mood
I’m still alone but happy in my room

Sunset to sunset; strapped to a headset
I’m soaking all the pixels in
Reflecting off my ash grey skin
Glossy glaze across my eyes

Days in a daze; life is blasé
I can’t wait to get to my room
Not a moment too soon
We’re connected; so connected

chorus
I’m still alone but happy
I’m still alone but happy
I’m still alone but happy in my room

James, Welcome back! I like it, once again catchy tune. I couldn't figure out that you were talking about computer windows until after the first chorus. Did you intend for that to be a twist? I like it that way.

Hi James

Loved the changes of chords (along with the wallpaper!) to match the mood. This is a lot of fun - very catchy and, pardon the pun, infectious.

Only suggestion I'd make is coming up with a different bit of equipment other than a mic (in the "Sunset to sunset; mic and a headset" line), simply because one gets the feeling from listening that our narrator is a passive participant rather than a creator on the computer. That may not be the case, but it certainly seems that way when we hear the song. Maybe:

Sunset to sunset; 4G's and a headset"

Just to come up with something off the top of my head.

Hope that you continue to have a great vacation and wishing you safe travels through the remainder of your trip.

And, as always, looking forward to more.

Peace

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the listen and feedback.

Actually, that was is line with what I was thinking.....I'm sure the number of passive participants on the computer, Internet, social networks, far out numbers the number of "creators on the computer"

Although could this help?:

"Sunset to sunset; mic and a headset"

change to

"Sunset to sunset; strapped to a headset"

or

"Sunset to sunset; wearing a headset"

or

"Sunset to sunset; me in my headset"

Preferences?

Thanks again.

Hi again, James

Of the choices you listed, I'm partial to "strapped to my headset" - it seems very true to the narrator's character.

Peace

I loved the melody on the chorus. Your singing sounds like you are gaining confidence with your vocal ability.

James, great song all around. Maybe not having your usual backup tracks and effects made you concentrate more on the tune.

Hi Renee,

Could be.
One difference is I have to "perform" better without relying on punch ins to fix up mistakes.....much closer to a live performance.

Thanks for the listen and feedback :D
