gfs humbuckers & assorted parts

In a depressed and drunken fit, I smashed my Saga LP copy. I never played that one any more, so it doesn't really matter, but it had some nice upgrades. So up for sale are the salvageable parts. - GFS Dream 180 neck pickup (gold) - GFS Dream 180 bridge pickup (gold) (small dent in pup cover & crack ...

Re: Favorite 90's Songs

Wow, it's been a while since I thought of all this stuff. Reminds me of high school. Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit Oasis - Wonderwall Green Day - Welcome to Paradise Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 Blues Traveller - Run-around Dave Matthews Band - Crash Into Me Cardigans - Erase/Rewind Sheryl Cro...

Re: Post your gear

@smokindog, I thought you'd like it, I seemed to remember you reminiscing about your old Princeton in one of the other threads. :) It has indeed become my favourite amp, it has absolutely gorgeous clean tones, especially with a touch of reverb. And it growls nicely when pushed, too! @Lefty, it is in...

Re: How musical is your family?

My mother plays guitar, and my younger brother plays piano, saxophone, and oboe. And maybe something else, I don't remember. I played trombone briefly in middle school band, then gave it up in high school, and only at the age of 26 picked up a guitar. I don't know how I managed to never pick up my m...

Re: Post your gear

We can't let the "post your gear" thread die! I'm sure with Christmas coming, this thread will be lively again. Anyway, I picked up this 1966 Princeton Reverb a few weeks ago, but have been derelict in posting the image and providing soundclips. But here you go: http://mysite.verizon.net/timez...

Sleepwalk Cover

Hey everyone,
been a while since I've posted anything, mostly been lurking lately. Been working on an old 50s surf guitar song called Sleepwalk with my instructor lately. Recorded it yesterday, and thought it was decent enough to post. Hope you enjoy. http://timezone.dmusic.com/

Re: Who has a really LOW wattage tube amp?

An umlaut has a totally different effect - it makes the sound closer to "bermbox". A German would pronounce "Bumbox" pretty close to "Boombox", though Feeling pedantic, greybeard? ;) I am actually aware of that -- I work with a lot of people in Germany, and I can almost sort of pronounce Boeblingen...

Re: Who has a really LOW wattage tube amp?

I have a bumbox (there's supposed to be an umlaut over the u, pronounce it "boombox") Lead 1 that is a 1W amp that's supposed to have a Marshall-ish sound. To me it sounds fairly along the lines of a JCM900. It uses the aforementioned 6n1p for the power tube. I play it through a 12" cab, and even at...

Re: ZZtop Sharp Dressed Man

Nicely done!

I think you need to play it on a fur-covered guitar for maximum effect though. 8)

I'm with pearlthekat. I really like Moby and I'm not ashamed to admit it! Most of these, I'm not particularly ashamed of, but they sure do make people give me some weird looks when poking through my collection. My feeble attempts at explanations are put in parentheses here for your amusement. Dido -...

Was the entire B-side of Meddle Phish - Mike's Song (live) 15m or so (I'm su...
