That's a great perspective, Tom. Good to think about it in the broader context!

Re: Well that was a failure....

I was unable to read music adequately enough for them, and when they found out I had only been playing guitar for less than 3 years, that sealed my fate LOL. Interesting story Joe; sorry it didn't work out for you. I had a similar thing happen; was asked to audition on bass guitar for a local commu...

Re: Help Choosing A Multi Effects Floor Unit

Actually that footswitch bypasses the unit entirely; the amp/cab bypass on the RP500 is indeed a small button. From the manual: Bypass/Tuner Footswitch This footswitch bypasses all of the RP500's effects sending an unprocessed signal out all of the outputs. Pressing and holding the Bypass footswitch...

USA or import Tribute series? Makes a world of difference ... either way, check the completed listings on ebay for an idea of where they have been selling.

Re: New guitar days!

So what you thought was a funk was really GAS ...

I'm actually almost done selling off a lot of my stuff for a similar reason (the funk), but I don't seem to be able to find anything I want to buy to replace it with ...

Anyway, enjoy your new gear!

Re: Help Choosing A Multi Effects Floor Unit

I'm very happy with my amp for distortion. I'd really just need delay, maybe flange, wah pedal, volume control, and a noise gate run through the effects loop without sucking too much out of the tone for my dirty sounds. For clean, well my amp's clean is weak (plus, I normally play an Ibanex RG.) So...

Ask him if he'd prefer the guitar amp to be under the bass amp.

Re: suitable 15" cab setup for HARTKE HA5500 amp?

Soooo ... would that be hooking up each cab seperately to the amp? as in: [15" cab] < [Amp] > [4.5 cab] Yes, since you've got the dual speaker jacks on the amp, that's how you'd do it. I don't know the phrase "will push a lot of air" ... but it means good, right? Oh yes! Speakers literally move the...

Re: suitable 15" cab setup for HARTKE HA5500 amp?

Two 8-ohm cabs in parallel will give a 4 ohm load to the amp. That is the minimum your amp can handle. Two 8-ohm cabs in series would be 16 ohms and less wattage. Do not use lower than 8 ohms per cab per speaker jack on the amp, as per the ratings (i.e., don't go lower than the minimum 4 ohms total....
