Re: Where did you sleep last night - finger placement for e5 chord?

I say use the lower 3 strings and forget the rest.
OR
If you can make your hand get to the shape a few times. Use your pinky to actually fret the note, and squeeze harder than you think you need to for 30 seconds. It'll help with the muscle memory of it.

Re: Rig for under $1,500?

Everything in music is player preference. So the best thing you can do for yourself, is to define clearly your taste. If it's the tone in the video then buy exactly what she's using. Forget about buying the whole rig on this "check." Get it piece by piece if you have to but you won't be satisfied un...

Re: Can't tune G string.

Yeah, if it were me personally I'd buy a set of medium range tuning machines and swap the set. For you, I'd probably try buying an individual machine somewhere. Back in the day, you couldn't do that but it's 2017 right? Just make a good effort to buy exactly what you have... even if it means reachin...

Re: Bass amp wattage: how much power is enough?

I agree with what's been said so far. There's a few factors to consider. Mainly, how much more volume do you want? and Is she happy with her current tone? there's extended cabs. I personally upgraded my cones and got low impedance cones. They sound killer and i get way more volume. Also you can take...

Re: I can't play guitar

OP,
It's been over a year since you first posted this:
Did you keep playing 30'/day??
How's those chords coming now? :)
keep practicing!

My advice,
Stop saying "I can't" remove the negative from your head space. Start focusing on what you can do and what you want to do better.

Re: Can't tune G string.

I love how concise Alan is. I would have written 3 pages on all the possibilities. Yeah, it's most likely what he said tho. Watch the tuning machine as you tighten it (wear eye pro). see if the machine just lets loose when you hear the crack. What machines are they? If they're cheaper, and I liked t...

Re: New player, jazzmaster won't stay in tune

I had a guitar tech at the store I bought it from check it out. He tightened up the tremolo a lot and that seemed to help at first , but now it's gone back to just as bad as it was. I changed the strings up, made sure there's nothing catching in the nut, the intonation's pretty good, but for some r...

Idk if posting links will get me in trouble. This is a circle of fifths. Check out the C major and Eb Major. Hopefully this helps!!
