Re: Playing Along

What's the context here? Are they playing along with someone playing something they've never heard before or are they just playing along to a song on the radio? Can they do it for 3 - 5 tracks in a row or just one at a time

Re: Hi!

This sounds weird, but I've had the most success with niche vintage stuff on the martin guit forum.

idk if that breaks rules to point you to another forum, hopefully i don't get banned.

I've only ever played one vintage tremolo amp. A crusty fender. it was gritty & smooth like vinyl! :)

If there's any issues at the neck joint, stay far far away, unless you have a luthier advise you otherwise

Re: 3 way switch wiring help

stewmac.com was always my go to when I used to do that kind of thing. I'd call it a 3 position switch tho. PS if I were in your shoes, i'd probably take a shot at it & then just buy the 8 pin version. Hope this helps! PS COMPLETELY guessing here, but if 1 prong is conventionally ground I would guess...

Re: Epiphone Truss rod adjustment

I used to set up guitars for a living. I never knew which ones were reverse threaded and which weren't. I just turn it about an 1/8 of a turn at a time until I liked where the neck sat.

Hope this help!

Re: What are scales?

[quote="dhodge"I find it helpful for beginners to say "Root, whole, whole , half, whole, whole, whole, half (which should be the root note again)."[/quote] Mos def. I usually accompany this with a written exercise. I,personally, use the vernacular "tonic" over "root." As it can confuse some chord st...

Re: Weak neck humbucker after attempted polarity flip

I DO remember messing with pickups!! Gosh it's been a long time! The copper winding around each coil is TINY and FRAGILE! I bet you broke one of the coils. I mean FRAGILE. Even with the (usually black) plastic cap you can still pop a wire and ruin the coil. Still try the stuff in the first post beca...

Re: Weak neck humbucker after attempted polarity flip

These are out of order: First thought was the magnets didn't get put the right height afterward. (closer to the string will give more volume). Second thought was I've never messed with the magnets on a humbucker. I always rewire it at the pot side when I'm putting something into/out of phase. So tbh...

Re: Clicking noise

Sorry I didn't listen to the file. You're hearing a loud pop between form a push/pull pot? You should hear a normal click sound, but not a loud pop. Me personally: I'd clean the pot first & see if that fixes/helps. If not then I'd swap it out. I'm not a huge fan of push pull pots, SO I'd probably ju...
