Re: Latest addition to my family....

That's just awesome, Vic! Nothing heals loss like a few new ones coming along. I'm very happy for you and your family,

Which Scale Pattern?

I've got a bit of an odd chord progression going in a song I'm writing. One of the hazards of writing lyrics first and then deciding that they need to be really dynamic before proceeding to the music department of my home project studio. The question is, which scale pattern would you bass you fills,...

Re: Parody Song Liabilities?

When I think of a parody song, I'm thinking along the lines of Weird Al Yankovic. If that's what you mean, you're golden - the Supreme Court has already ruled that sort of thing fair use. (The decision is Cambell v Acuff-Rose Music, Inc; the decision is here ). But reading over your post again, it ...

Parody Song Liabilities?

So, I wrote and made a pretty funny "parody song". The song picks on someone who made the news due to a massive lapse of judgment. It's a combination of comedy and statement with a dose of fiction. The name and situation is very real, sadly enough, but I used some stereotypical attributes to fill in...

Not Getting Email Notifications?

I'm not getting email notifications. Does anybody know what address I am supposed to allow in through the mail server? I know it changed at least once, so I want to be sure.

Re: gig photo

I was looking through the GC site using a variety of key-words looking for a "Pedal Steel". Nothing. I'll broaden the search of course, but was curious if you knew of a good, but reasonable maker of the Pedal Steel Guitar complete with stand or whatever it sets on.

Re: What's Happening Everyone?

......... I use Band-in-a-Box as a sketch pad for writing sequences. Like all auto-accompaniment devices, the output is pretty generic (and has to be) so I export into a sequencer (Real Band will do, I have an old Master Tracks Pro sequencer that works with my brain much faster) and tweak from ther...

Re: What's Happening Everyone?

So, one thing that has happened to me since getting head deep into my "studio" home hobby thing last year. I have gotten very slack at string changes. Aside from my new Tele, I have not changed a set in months. Many are over 6 months old. @Gotdablues: I still find it surprising that seemingly nobody...

Re: What's Happening Everyone?

I'm having the oddest behavior with my default settings. I'm supposed to get an email when someone posts, but I'm not. I'll have to figure out how to fix that. @Notes: That is good customer service. Hard to come by these days....unless you pay for it. Then it's still a battle. Good enough to order a...

What's Happening Everyone?

It's been a while since I've posted. Looks like it's been a while since anyone's posted. I thought I'd drop in, so to speak, and say howdy and see how everyone is and what you've been up to. I hope y'all still playing guitar. It's been a very strange year again on the weather front. My head situatio...

Re: gig photo

Whether or not it sets you apart is arbitrary. You make that instrument sound fantastic, as I recall. Gotta love a well played lap steel. Worth the price of admission.
