Re: Andante in Am - Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841)

I enjoyed that very much.

Do you ever go back and listen to your playing from, say, 12 months ago? I think you would be rather pleasantly surprised by just how well you are improving!

Re: Lessons are not for me....at least with this teacher

Little fish in a very little pond.

Ignore them (or pity them, if you are feeling inclined). If they don't understand the desire to learn "completely", then that is their shortcoming, not yours.

Dragging knuckles

Has anyone else had a problem when strumming that they brush the strings with their right index finger, which becomes quite painful after a while?

I'm trying to learn to use a pick properly, so my technique is inconsistent, admittedly, but wondering if it is a common problem?

Re: Craving Inspiration

Thought it was about time for a re-introduction! Still craving inspiration. And still hanging on to the idea of learning to play guitar. How much can things change and still stay the same! I have had about 18 months lay off from lessons, and have really fallen backwards with my guitar. But on the pl...

Sound difference?

Hello. I'm posting a question that is probably only as answerable as the length of a piece of string... If you have a model of guitar, which comes as both a dreadnought and a cutaway, how much difference to the sound would the cutaway make. I understand (presume) it is for greater accessibility of t...

Re: YouTube channel getting heat

It would be easier to respect the "higher moral ground" if the published copyrighted print music, for which you pay sometimes twice as much than the original album, was accurately notated/tabbed.

Re: Beginner's videos

I really don't want this post to die

It's been a fantastic inspiration, and I'm determined to get off my ample butt and add some video in the next 7 days. Hopefully that will encourage other newbies to post as well.

Re: Down On My Knees (Revisited)

Can't have a listen until I'm at home...

but every time I see this title I read it as "Got my knee down". I think I'm spending too much time over at my other favourite forum (yep, all about bikes).

Online sheet music?

I'm wanting to purchase a couple of songs in sheet music, which I haven't been able to find in-store in Australia as yet. Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with online print music sites? I'm particularly interested in whether they can be printed to PDF (I've noticed they all want to install a ...

I really enjoyed that! You all seemed to gel really well. (That bass is huge!)

(And congratulations for not getting distracted with all the door opening/closing/opening/closing going on in your peripheral vision  )

Re: Anyone buy "Just Because?"

I "inherited" my first guitar (I call it my divorce settlement, a steel-string acoustic), and then carefully tried out a bunch of guitars for fit and tone etc. before getting my classical and my Strat. I have had one pure impulse buy though... there is an electric bass sitting here that I bought pur...
