Jet City

Hey All, As I mentioned in a previous post, I quit my band a while back. I was using a Carvin V3 head with a 212 cab back then. To get to the sound I wanted, I was blasting my wife all throughout the house when practicing! I decided that it was time to downsize...so I sold my 212 cab and v3 head. Th...

Mississippi Queen - after I played the song on guitar hero, I thought it would be very difficult. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it in RL

Re: Favoite guitar that you own.

Mine would definitely have to be my 2008 Fender Highway 1 Strat HSS. It has some awesome schaller locking tuners in it too

Re: The party is over

I'm sorry to hear about your band's demise. My band split up for just about the same reason last month; where and when to gig. At least you made it out of the garage a couple of times, so you weren't really a garage band  I hope you stay motivated to practice and find new people to jam with.

Re: How fast ( metronome ) can you play a scale?

I must admit that I'm a little confused by this thread so far. Alan is the only person who has really clearly said how fast he plays a scale (unless I'm missing something in other posts). Are you guys doing quarter notes or eighth notes? (Or whole notes! ) I honestly have no idea what I ca...

Re: Boss ME-70

Hey Cnev, I'm pretty picky about my distortions too. The other guitarist in my former band had a Visual Sounds Jekyll & Hyde pedal. That might be worth checking out. It has two separate modes on it that you switch on/off - Overdrive and Distortion. You can use these separately or combine them. New t...

Re: The future of Musical Games

the game sounds cool. In my opinion, they should have spent a little more time on the title though.

jam session!

I previously mentioned that I quit my band in another thread. It was getting too stressful and there was a huge difference of opinions on where it should be going. So the day after I quit my band, I searched for a new group of guys to jam with. I found some guys that live near me, instead of 50 minu...

Re: Wish I lived next door to rparker...

i enjoy reading his gear posts! He also seems to stay motivated even though he's not in a band or group that practices regularly. That is definitely respectable!

I wish i had a neighbor like him to jam with.

Re: Band Drama

congrats on getting a group together! Getting a group of musicians together and making music is a blast! with that said, i can certainly understand your band drama. That will be hard to avoid when you have a group of people wanting to make music. If you set a band goal that everyone agrees upon, tha...
