No, never did that (but my smoke detectors are hard wired to the home's electrical service!).

Re: Anyone knows any rock guitar lessons available online?

Here are two options I would offer, both of which are on DVD: 1. Learn & Master Guitar: http://www.learnandmasterguitar.com/ I bought this course and am using it to teach my two sons to play guitar. It is quite good and resembles traditional in-person lessons. The reviews for it are good. It will ge...

Re: Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster

There are TONS of Strat pieces out there on the market - just check Ebay. Lots of people slap the different parts together and if they sell them, you never are quite sure what you are buying. Most of them will be ethical and tell you what is is, where the pieces came from, etc. But, there are a few ...

Re: Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster

$550 is still a good price for a full MIA Strat, especially since you like it. If it is a MIM body, I would take it back.

Did a sign at the store say it was a Deluxe? If so, I would do more than a little complaining & see if they will drop the price even more.

Re: Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster

Looking at the pictures, I was thinking the same thing - it looks like a MIA, but not a deluxe. Does the serial number start with "DZ" or just "Z"? The neck looks MIA. The only way I know to check the body is to take the neck off, but I am no expert. I wonder if it is a FrankenStrat (built with all ...

Re: Your Fantasy Guitar Collection

I'll just settle for Nigel's collection, as seen in Spinal Tap, including the amp that goes to 11:

Re: FYI on 15% off at Music123

Supposedly it was select items only, then I put some stuff in the cart. I'll be receiving some stuff for my drum kit in the next couple of days I guess. I've been wanting to get more into the drums. Yeah, that's what the front page says, on just a few things. But, whenever you put something...

Re: FYI on 15% off at Music123

I may be wrong, but it looks like 15% off on anything they sell! I put an American Fender Strat, a Gibson Les Paul & a Marshall stack in the shopping cart & all showed 15% off. I wasn't buying them, itt was just to see if the discount applied - I would have to sell a kidney to pay for all that!

FYI on 15% off at Music123

To anyone who was going to buy some equipment, Music123.com has a 15% off "coupon" - if you type in "80rocks" in the coupon box at check out. I have no idea how long it will last - check into it online. It appears that they aren't excluding "name brands." I got 15% off on this (I got the natural fin...

Steve:

I offered to sell back to you the Guiness guitar several months ago. Either that, or a trade, can't remember. You declined, remember? You want it back, let me know, I might want to trade or sell still. PM me.

Re: 2007 another down year for record sales

I'm talking about music technology ofcourse. Creativity and originality is of every generation for as long as there have been music. The only real difference between now and the sixties is that everyone and their dog can buy equipment that you couldn't even find in the most expensive studios back t...

To shamelessly pull a famous quote from MLK, Jr., I have a dream... I have a dream... that somewhere out there in middle America, or England, or even somewhere else, 4 young kids have started a band and are playing in a garage. I have a dream... that these kids are talented and dedicated to their cr...

I agree with Ric for the most part, but here in Colorado (where it is really dry), we need humidifiers. Otherwise there is a potential that the guitar will get so dry over time that it cracks.
