there is also an interesting sounding photo exhibition on at the Lowry gallery in Salford-mister sixties, a collection of pictures of iconic musicians from said decade. I am hoping to get to that on Sunday when the photographer himself (phillip townsend) is there but I think its on until November. W...

Understood Vic - get in touch whenever, the lift offer is still there. The one at Haydock next year will be handy, hop on the bus to Golborne and ill escort you down-mind you, we will have to pass a couple of pubs on the way, unfortunately :wink:

Just a thought but is anyone from NW england going to the guitar show at Aintree racecourse on Sun 28th November? I plan to and thought it might be nice if a few of the 'locals' could meet for a coffee, chat and look at guitars and gear, watch the demo bands etc. Been to Manchester and Penrith ones ...

Thanks all. There was quite a lot of beer involved, thanks Vic, over the weekend from Friday to Sunday (some of which was used to drown my sorrows while watching the Liverpool game in the pub :( ). No guitars though. Havent figured recently, always seems to be something to do.... No musical presents...

I'm going to finally try and dabble with recording something using audacity and line 6 toneport. Have the guitars, have a bass, what I need is some free drum loops/software to mess with and put together simple backing tracks. Any suggestions? OK. Gordon Smith, check Toneport plugged into laptop set to '80s metal tone preset. check Headphone. Check Mojo.............erm.... Anyhoo, can't help thinking starting to try and play 'Panama' by Van Halen a touch ambitious at this stage of the comeback. Fun though 8) . Good job I had headphones on.
