Re: Someone Like You

A couple I found on-line:

http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/a/adele ... r2_tab.htm
http://www.911tabs.com/link/?7613197

Both sound reasonable to my (sadly) untrained ear.
I just tried it with a I-M-A-M-I....etc pattern.

Because it's making better contact with your skin the harder you squeeze.

Your body acts as a giant antenna for all manner of electrical interference from the air.

Re: Case Wear

Well, duct tape would be traditional, and fully authentic looking. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.diylife.com/media/2007/06/ducttapeguitar.jpg Another option is stickers-- lots of stickers: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/jkater/Stickerscase.jpg Which would also give you the image of a road-weary...

Re: mystery amp problem

I'd be interested to hear the results of encasing the amp in a faraday cage. If you have some fine mesh chicken wire, you could create a faraday cage, which would not totally eradicate external emissions, but would noticeably reduce them. I'd recommend metal windows screen, rather than trying to fi...

Re: mystery amp problem

I suppose another possibility might be that something nearby is generating an EM field, though it would have to be pretty substantial to have an effect at any great distance.

Is your neighbour running a welder, or a bunch of neon signs, or something odd like that?

Obviously you need to get one of those carbon fibre guitars to play during the seasonal transitions.
They say those things are impervious to temperature and humidity changes.

Have you tried taking the amp(s) to a friend's house or some other location?

Re: Infinite Monkey Cage sound

Actually, and a bit surprisingly, the link works here in Canada.
iplayer links don't usually work here. (though I have other methods to enjoy BBC programming, when I can't get it the official way)

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Why is my guitar laggy through my PC?

I used http://www.asio4all.com/ back when I used Windows XP. But I don't have any experience with the current Windows versions. You might want to do some googling as there seem to be a couple of other options these days. Of course, even with the most optimised system, there will always be some amoun...

Re: Gonna make a practice app

If you just start working on random transitions you may never come across them in anything you play True, but for someone who writes music, this _might_ have value to break them out of the familiar, or perhaps they might like one of the random, probably un-conventional transitions that might come u...
