Black metal, doom metal and neo-classical shreddy stuff. I usually play bass for people, but always feel more at home on the guitar.

It just gets better...the more you play the more you'll be able to do and the more comfortable you will become. In short, the more you pick up your instrument the more you'll enjoy it.

I'm very much into playing lead melodies on bass if that's what you mean, and oddly enough, I play some of the licks from Far Beyond the Sun from time to time on my six string. I think that a lot of people view bass as a limiting instrument, but you can do pretty much whatever you want on it.
