Haha, A bit impaitient aren't we? You never stated the equipment you have now. You running thru a 5150 or a mesa boogie recto? A multi-effect pedal? Recording software? Lots of people use audacity, it is free. I use Cakewalk, but to each his own. To plug into your computer, any multi effect amp mode...

Nope.

A line 6 pod and other amp modelers are pre-amps, they would need a power amp inbetween, to do that.

You can plug a Pod into a pa system, if you wanted to, or something like those Atomic amps. But, yeah they need a power amp.

I liked it. Nice job guys. Dntalb, you have the groove down, and I feel the emotion you were putting into this. Steve, your timing is excellent, nice. Bish, short but sweet, in key, and on time. celt, love your tone. Overall, I enjoyed it. Just one thought, that you need to build to something. It fe...

Strange problem. I have had a few guitars that lock at the nut, like that, and never seen that. My 7 string, which of course has one larger locking nut than the others. But all my 6 strings have had locks that are equal and square. The 1st thing, I'd check is to make sure the locks are all the same ...

SSG16- Change with mp3

I wrote a short piece for this week. Still need to write a bit more for it. I did a quick recording to give you all an idea of how it sounds so far. I called it Change Verse The old man Broken and withered Looks for a reason to carry on The dim lights Lost in the shadows Hiding the clutter of a life...

I played around with the song for a few minutes. This is what I came up with for the open riff.

Standard tuning.

A strat and a fender tube amp seem standard fair, as far as the blues scene goes.
John Mayer seems a bit of a gear snob, prefering crazy expensive vintage strats, dumble amps ect.. Although he has a great tone.

I like bright tones for the most part.

Mids, always cut through best, in a band sitiation. Big boomy bass is hard to beat. I like them all, but mostly bright tones, I guess. :D

I love the idea, you had for this song. I think you pulled it off well.

Do you have music for this song?

One thing, 6'4'" is still larger than life for us shorties,

Bring that down to us regular folk, and it come across better.

tough one, the triple XXX, gives you a sound some between a mesa/marshall sound, stock to my ears, with a lean towards a mesa.

I like the sound of a stock triple XXX better than dimebag's tone anyway.

for free stuff, most would use, audacity for recording software, and hammer head for drum programming.

I can't remember ever breaking a pick, but yeah they wear out the same way every time. I don't think I mark up my pick ups, like you do.

I think after trying a bunch of different kinds of picks, we all settle on our favorite one, and buy them , in bunches. :D

Sounds like a good start. Kinda reminds me of elton john's rocketman.

The line "my mind is racing again" I'd change to "racing tonight", reguardless of the rythume, just me maybe.

Oh, like 90% of what I write comes off tacky, and overdone, to me. We all feel that way.
