Re: Digital piano owners?

Casio Privia PX-860 If you're looking for a compact, but full sounding digital piano with a realistic touch, this may be what you're looking for. The basic sound of the grand is very realistic from very, very soft to very, very loud. The 20W/channel amplifier actually gets this digital piano almost ...

Re: Solo boost

I'll go with TC; it is an affordable boost pedal that doesn't color your tone when used in effects loop.

Re: I need a good rock song?!!

I suggest Free bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's definitely one of the most iconic epics ever written for rock guitar.

Youtube tutorial videos are great. They really let you see what you're supposed to do, rather than just reading about it.

Re: Best pick for beginners?

Guitar picks are really cheap, maybe $.25 to $.50 each. The best way to know which kind you like best is go to a music store and buy $5.00 worth of picks of different thicknesses, sizes and materials, take them home and try them out over the course of the next several weeks or months as you learn to...

Re: Using olive oil for guitar body?

I would say no on the olive oil. Some guitars have a "nitro" lacquer finish (especially vintage guitars) and these can react chemically with different oils and solvents with absolutely horrifying results. A friend of mine left a stick of incense on his vintage Martin and the oils and solvents in it ...

Re: Losing My Drive to Play

Whenever I'm frustrated I just go back and remember what made me start playing guitar, and why I still play. I suppose you could just try new material, or play songs that you really enjoy that would get you into the mood to play. Worst case scenario is that you just take a break for a bit until you ...

Re: Do guitarists need a "warm-up"?

Mine isn't very specific. I just run through a bunch of scales and I use a bunch of different rhythmic patterns and change directions at different times. I think this helps warm up more picking patterns.

Re: How Many (Right Hand) Fingers Should I use?

The usual pattern of use will be fore finger first for one finger playing. Second option is the thumb. Consider this first gear. Then the middle finger is added to the fore finger. If the thumb was the option then the fore finger is added to the thumb. Consider this second gear. Then in tired gear t...

Re: Noob - Peavey Vs Epiphone Guitar ?

The Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 has a 3 way selector toggle Switch featuring treble, rhythm and the normal standard setting. I enjoy the features on this guitar, it's perfect for people like me who like a quick attack but still have a heavy sort of bond.
