Re: Mistakes I made along the way.

So up to the point of Berkele you didn't record yourself? Or play over backing tracks. The two best ways to learn. As soon as I could put two notes together I started recording for prosperity sake and I listen to them often and found I've gotten better and better. I record almost every time I practi...

Re: Difficult Stretching My Pinkie to the 4th Fret

Don't stretch. Roll your wrist around the neck to hit the note with the pinkie. I used to try to stretch till i saw that advice on the internet. Lot easier than trying to stretch our pinkie. However I don't use the pinkie much at all but when I do, i roll my wrist around the neck

Re: From the club owner's perspective...

Sounds like he runs a club not a bar. He obviously doesn't know what kind of music bar patrons enjoy. It's certainly not pop or some fancy dance krap. Save that krap for the raves, not bars. Guy sounds like an donkey and I would not want to patron his bar let alone play in his bar. I've seen very fe...

Re: Beginners blues

You should be able to follow any blues backing track on the internet if you have been at it for two years. Theres not alot of chords in blues that I found out. If you know your pentatonic scales, you should be well on your way to playing blues. I've been at it for a little over two years, and I can ...

Re: Strumming Pattern

I think strumming patterns is like anything else. Think to much about it and it becomes a task. I always start with a down stroke and build off that. I sing (and I can't sing) the song to myself as I strum slow then once I got it, I've pretty much go it. And though it may sound not 100% to an expert...

Listen to the song and play it and it should sound pretty good. Atleast to me it did

Re: Hendrix - was he really that good?

He was really good for his time. He was a showman and that made him dynamic. I don't think he was influential though. But he does go down in history of guitars.

Re: Sloppy?

You are right about one thing; you are to hard on yourself. I found that up lifting very groovey cool. You had that spanish flamenco kinda blues thing going and it sounded good to me. But them I'm probably not skilled enough to give you the opinion your after.

Re: Losing My Drive to Play

To much of a good thing is never a good thing. I don't play every day, though I should. I don't have the time really. And thxgiving through christmas is the worse time to be envolved in anything 100%. I had 5 days off and I got maybe 2hrs of play time in, because I had entirely to much to do. When I...

Re: Latency is driving me nuts; what to do?

Just lately with just youtube and rig running a the same time, my latency is up and down. Depending on what amp model im playing, i have to reset the late...
