Re: Is my guitar action good?

I've only ever seen one guitar that needed a truss rod adjustment, and that was a bass with a severely warped neck. You turned it one whole turn? I'm surprised you didn't warp the neck a long way the other way; one quarter of a turn is the maximum recommended by the experts. Exactly what is that rid...

Re: Tuner question.

Looking at the spec on the Korg website, it only seems to work in standard tuning - 7th string tuned to B Drop A tuning means your 7th string is an octave lower than your 5th, so your 7th string fretted at fret 12 should sound the same as your open 5th string. Alternatively, in drop A, your 7th stri...

Re: Trying to learn how to play the guitar.

What CAN you do so far? Learn some chord shapes - grab a Chord Dictionary from your App store Get hold of the music to a few songs - Tab sites will help and a Google search reading "<song title> tab" always brings back a shedload of results Put the two together. Then ask your lady what is her favour...

Re: Help with a song.

My score is from the "Recorded Transcriptions Guitar" book for the album, published by Hal Leonard. The song's written in two sharps - D major or B minor - but it's tonally ambiguous from the start. The opening riff and most of the verse accompaniment can be payed around the 5th position using the b...

Welcome to the party. Eventually, the guitar will pay some bills or get you life-partners - maybe both You are experiencing a fairly standard set of issues. Do make sure you're properly warmed up before you play big songs - play some open shapes and simple scales. You are trying to run before you ca...

The choris ends in with a d chord back in black lyrics
Noteboat did say "almost every phrase" so I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

D is the Subdominant in the key of A, which actually reinforces Noteboat's point.

Re: Fixing a dull spot on my guitar

No, don't try fixing the autograph. It's worth more "faded" than "bodged"

I think we can all use this as an object lesson - stuff you use to polish your car is ok with your hunk of metal in the garage, but will mess up your substantially more delicate axe

Re: Free pdf. guitar songs

Depends what you're after.

Classclef.com has loads of free guitar music in pdf but it's for solo guitar - lots of folk stuff, lots of classical.

If you're after songs you hear on the radio then you're going to need to buy the book or use somewhere like guitaretab.com for "Tabs of varying quality"

Re: Double Truss Rod

The double truss rod system is there to deal with the highly increased tension placed on the neck by the increased number of strings. It's not a case of "which one does what" - they combine to do the one job.

Yes, you may have to adjust both.
