Re: Back In Black - what key

.... So in my opinion the key is E mixolydian - it is kind of vague and open to interpretation though, like a lot of AC/DC songs it mixes up notes from minor and major scales a lot. E mixolydian is not a key, it's the 5th mode of the A major scale. You're right about the song's tonal ambiguity though

Re: Is taking guitar classes worth it?

Yes, it's always worth taking lessons no matter how long you've been playing

I had a few lessons when I was 20, wanting to learn some classical guitar techniques. I had my next lesson when I was 46 and coming up to my Grade 7 exam

The website doesn't; a human does, and enters it all into a template

Re: Guitar input jack screw loose

Nothing wrong with the wood - the screws have been inserted at the wrong angle.

Fill the holes with wood filler and partly re-drill them, making sure you go downwards vertically

Re: Where to start with learning music theory.

I think in terms of being able to improvise and play songs, you will want to learn key signatures and the circle of fifths. Once you understand the keys that you're playing in, things start to make a lot more sense! Please do not edit posts after approval to include Spam links - we can see them. I'...

Re: Recomend me a decent low priced classical guitar.

I have an Alhambra 4P - it's got a nice light sound but and I use it professionally to play weddings or whenever I need to sound seriously good. Also good - Admira guitars. They're comparably priced and sound good. I use them at weddings too Ask your local guitar shop - they should be able to get on...

Well, you can start by having the same gear, but that won't make you sound like him.

Only long hours in the practise room will help

Re: Van halen - eruption

Pick-hand tapping, using the whammy bar to get to an exact pitch (rather than just waggling it), legato playing, controlling your sound on your amp - the list is endless, which is why it made such a good warmup exercise back in the day for students as well as for EVH himself.

Re: How can i do better?

Hi, This is my first post here. Hope this is the right place. I came here looking for some advice. I've been playing the guitar for a few years now, on and off. I learned how to read tabs (can't read sheet music) and I can learn most songs I want to that way. I'd like to improve, however, but I'm n...

Re: Ukulele chord-symbols - someone have some?

There was a Spam link in the original post, which I've edited out, but the question is a valid one so I didn't just disapprove the whole thing.

I teach ukulele as well as guitar, so I would suggest starting at your App Store - I got a free Ukulele chord dictionary from mine (Windows)
