Re: low action guitar selection

Truth be told, the only way you can improve your playing is to practice. If that's the only reason you're looking for a low action, I would say you're barking up the wrong tree, mate. However, a low action is attained through a setup to your liking. Like has been previously stated, take it to a tech...

New Recording and the First Time Fiddling with Multi-Track

Hey all! It's been awhile and since I've been here last. I've dropped and picked back up playing about five times, gone through about 10 different amps, tried string gauges ranging from .08's all the way to .16's (Heavy heavy Richard dale tones >D), and fiddled with a few different genres. I've play...

Re: SO FRUSTRATED!

1+ on Kent's, Roy's, and Daven's comments. Zeb, this is Voodoo. What I do when I'm getting frustrated with a song is play something I know or write something new. Just going back to something you know or getting the creative juices flowing by writing something new is a great frustration buster... Fo...

Re: String Buzzing?

Hey all! I checked the frets, there are no proud ones. So I slapped a new set of strings and had the same problem. I raised the action a little bit and adjusted the truss rod to put a tiny bow in the neck and that solved the problem. :D The best thing is, the action is still great! Thanks for the he...

String Buzzing?

This has been puzzling me. The third (g) string on my Lucille when played on the second fret buzzes against the third fret like crazy. It's only the G-string on that fret. I can't figure out how to fix this. Any advice? thanks,

But triplets are rhythmic figures, and can be applied to any melody... what do you do if the first two notes are an octave apart?
sorry, should have clarified. I do that when Im playing in the minor pentatonic (which I usually am), but otherwise its D-U-D.

Re: triplet strumming pattern

What I do (regardless of the tempo), is down-pic on the first note, hammer on or pull off the second, and up-pick the third.

First Recording

Recorded through Lucille, into a Kustom Double Barrel 30 watt. The sound quality is really bad, cause I miked the amp with a really cheap mic. Anywho, I tried to get some Gibbons, BB, and Clapton flavor in this. REALLY wanting feedback. Thanks, and enjoy

Re: great solos- great phrasing

A guy at a guitar shop showed me this riff when I was first starting (right after he showed me the minor pentatonic scale). E------------------------7---------9p7------------------ B---------------------7------10p7-----10p7----------- G-7h9b11rb9---7--9b11---------------------9b11-7 I started fiddel...

Im not entirely sure on this, but it seemed that his guitar got louder when he turned it. So that leads me to believe a volume, or mid-range booster.

Re: Distortion Pedals

well, Ill stray from the other two, and say that I absolutely love my DS-1. I also have a Digitech Bad Monkey, and a reissue Ibanez Tube Screamer. The Tube Screamer beats out the other two, but my second choice is the DS-1.

Peavey Bandit 112 Transtube

Hey all, I started up my amp (a Peavey Bandit 112 Transtube) today, and while it did actually turn on, when I plugged in my Lucille, no sound came out. I checked both channels, and found that if you turn it all the way up, you get a muffled fuzzed out sound on the clean channel. From what Ive read, ...

Re: Anyone Self taught?

I am self taught... if you dont count my mom teaching me the C, D, and G chords when I was three. I turn 16 this year, and Ive been strumming guitar since I was three, but only the past couple of years started playing and developing style. I'm not sure how good I am. I can play a few Hendrix tunes, ...
