Re: copyright question

Expensive practice if you're prolific!

I'll have to look at Australian law more closely (not that I'm composing, but I am naturally curious  )

Re: copyright question

A long time ago, when we wanted to copyright a play or novel, it would be printed out, mailed to our selves, and kept sealed, and that would be proof of authorship/copyright. I'm wondering if a modern version of that would be to PDF the file and email it to yourself, and that would be timestamped an...

Re: All of the above! (Version 4)

Oh, one other thing. I'm very curious to know how the known good MP3 would sound in Sound Click. It was the one lots of people were using until a few years ago. I'd be really interested to know about this too. I've only just opened a Soundclick account, and if I'm better off going elsewhere, I'm ce...

Re: All of the above!

Knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about recording, I'm looking forward to the responses to try and learn a little more (sorry, leeching off your post  )

Re: Beginner's videos

Thank you for your kind words! I need to learn more about this recording caper... I just kinda left everything on neutral, but I think I will need to adjust settings to cope with both quieter and "belty" singing in one song. Any suggestions where is best to learn these things for someone who wants t...

Re: Beginner's videos

Okay... after flaffing about for longer than I care to mention, I have finally managed to sing and play through a whole song.

I promised myself I would one day post something here.

Be gentle.

Re: Vaguely guitar related...

Thought I'd do an update. All moved in and LOVING it. Admittedly, there seems to be many, many things to do around the house (and work, of course), but I'm managing to at least keep the "noodling" up, if not proper practice/playing. (That implies I could "proper practice/play" in the first place :lo...

Re: Vaguely guitar related...

Yep, already organised the insurance (although must do the photos!), plus added portable coverage for the cost of a guitar/amp when I'm out and about.

And I'm not trusting the removalists... I'll be driving my amps and guitars myself!

Vaguely guitar related...

Wasn't quite sure where (if anywhere) was appropriate for this. I've put the guitars away for a couple of months because I've been flat out buying our first house ! I'll have a dedicated room for my studio (combined music and writing/book layout work), and will be able set up my guitars (wall hanger...

Re: Looking on the bright side...

I found - or rather re-found - a guy that I really enjoy having lessons with too. Although it's stretching it a bit to call them lessons. They're more like lesson avoidance sessions... We get together once a week and chat about music, during the course of which I pick up all sorts of random interes...

Looking on the bright side...

It's a rainy, cold(ish) summers day here in Sydney, and with the year rapidly running out, I thought this might be timely. Think of it as a pre-New-Years-Resolution tally! Ok, so rather than sit here and think about ALL the things I didn't achieve with the guitar this year, I thought I'd focus on th...

Re: What would your ideal music life look like?

This is a very good post! And maybe a difficult one, too... I am a late starter, but even as a late starter, I'm in the slow class. I struggle to keep focus and I struggle to practice, but I don't seem able to give up on the guitars, either. I'm just whittling away, hoping that this year I might be ...

Re: Giving The Man Cave a Facelift

<take 2>

The whole set up looks fantastic.

Says something about different geographic outlooks. I looked at the lights and thought "geez, it'd get pretty sweaty under those".
Hadn't thought about the wall of snow outside. Don't get that in these parts!

Re: Intermediate amp choices

I ended up with the Blues Jnr... I just really liked the "quiet" tones of this amp, and even plucking around this afternoon briefly, I cannot believe how good my guitar sounds through it!

Do I look happy?

Re: Intermediate amp choices

hehehe I KNEW you'd all say this. I tried to explain it to my boyfriend in terms he'd understand... how do you test-ride a motorbike if you haven't learnt to ride yet? I feel a bit the same way with an amp. I have such little experience that I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I have had a good...
