Re: Blues Gear

I used to have a zoom g9.2tt. That thing was awesome. The sound quality was great. It had 2 expression pedals - and there were a lot of cool pitch shifting and harmoner things. The z-pedal was a cool concept. Included 2 preamp tubes. I eventually sold it in favor of a pedal board when i started a ba...

Re: Blues Gear

what about the clean channel on your spyder, then using one of the overdrive pedals in front of it on your G2? I have a g2 and think you could get some decent blues out of it? Obviously it's not going to be up to a fender tube amp, but you can get a decent sound for practicing w/o disturbing your ne...

Re: finally reached my guitar goals! now what?

thanks guy.

I definitely am having more fun and seeing more opportunities arise.

I thought of some things to work on:
-better vibrato
-vibrato while bending
-solo to a MAJOR scale as easily as I can to a minor(that will probably take the most effort)

finally reached my guitar goals! now what?

Hey Guys, I haven't posted on here in a while. When I started playing guitar, my goal was to join the praise band at my church on electric guitar. That was a daunting task since there's a few thousand in our congregation. A few months ago, my old guitar teacher (who is the lead guitar in the band) a...

New Cab and Combo makeover!

I've mentioned converting my 6505 combo to a head a few times..... just received my new Whitebox cab in the mail. 212 w/ Celestion vintage 30s.... this is AWESOME together. Great lead tones, chugging palm mutes. Very good for my modern rock band. Here some pictures Before: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.ne...

Re: Fender Highway 1

I own one. I am a fan. Keep in mind I have the HSS model Most noticeable differences: 1.) Nitrocellulose (not sure if that's spelled correctly) finish. It has a different appearance and allows the wood to "breathe more", so i hear. It also gives a cool look when it wears away. I like it compared to ...

Re: Jet City Combo Issues

yeah - i had the volume knob around 4ish. I'm the only guitarist in my band, which helps. The cleans on the amp are decent, but not great. The people whining about the lack of headroom probably don't "get" the concept behind the amp..... You don't buy a single channel low wattage head for headroom :...

Re: Jet City Combo Issues

is your combo closed back? I recently popped on the conversion back on my Avatar 112 contemp cab (vintage 30). I definitely enjoyed the sound of it more (keeping in mind i'm going for closer to modern rock). Have you popped an overdrive in front of yours yet? It gave me a great lead tone (although a...

Re: Jet City Combo Issues

I would start out by emailing this guy and asking. I just ordered a WhiteBox cab (jet city's new line) and he responded to me with a few followup questions.

Re: New song...

you could just play it a step lower w/ the same tuning. It might mess you up on an open power chord - since you wouldn't have the bass note (c#) w/ my band, we play standard, drop D, and Drop C#. I use one guitar for standard and drop d, the other for drop c#. I prefer that to retuning or playing do...
