Re: Losing the "fire"

I feel the same sometimes. But I always end up picking it back up sooner or later. It'll pass. You can let the fire dwindle but never let it go out....

Whatever it is

Been learning to play Zac Brown Bands, Whatever it is. I've got the progression down. Standard tuning with capo on the 1st fret. The progression I'm learning goes C-G/B-Am-G-F-G-C-Am-G/B and the chorus F-G-C-G/B-Am-G, according to Chordie.com, which sounds dead on... My question is about the harmoni...

Joke or is it?

C, E-flat and G go into a bar. The bartender says, "sorry, but we don't serve minors." So E-flat leaves, and C and G have an open fifth between them. After a few drinks, the fifth is diminished and G is out flat. F comes in and tries to augment the situation, but is not sharp enough. D comes in and h...

New Gear, New Experience

Been having a lot of fun with my EPI Les Paul, bubbles, and my new Line 6 UX1 I just recieved for christmas, but my acoustic department has been lacking in quality and sound. So with my taxes filed and accepted and a GuitarCenter Card in hand I went ah'shoppin. My criterias were; acoustic/electric w...

Re: Who's Getting Gear This Year?

Told everybody I know not to buy for me this year. I'm getting my own present. Just ordered myself a set of Dunlop Straploks and a Line 6 Toneport UX1 yesterday. Plus a lady I know is giving me an old combo organ she wasn't using anymore. So I'm gonna go pick that up today after I clock out, weather...

Re: The Rosetta Stone of Guitar

I see it as neither a "crutch" or an "end of all", but more of a stepping stone. I learned the information. I have used it, incorporated it, it has helped me move forward and I'm still learning from it and without it. It is not always implemented but now it's always there to help if need be. It hasn...

Re: Palm muting

When I mute I use some of the heel of my hand and some of the palm running up to my pinky. If you use just the heel then you may be to parallel to do any good. Maybe it is a bad way to do it but it works for me at the moment. Plus you don't need to mute all the strings if your not strumming all stri...

Re: The Rosetta Stone of Guitar

I have only had this DVD fo about 5 days and I've already had several EUREKA moments  . Now I'm playing with old songs and finding all the family members and making progressions that sound heavenly and soloing over them. It's nice to get out of the box penatonics for a change and I knew som...

Re: The Rosetta Stone of Guitar

After reading this thread, I've ordered this cd. 8) I have no concept of what the CAGED theory is, I haven't went down that road or anywhere near it yet. I have studied Theory quite a bit but mainly relating to the piano and haven't incoporated it to the guitar at all. Hopefully this won't be over m...

AC/DC

Can anyone recommend a good AC/DC Songbook? All the ones I'm seeing have bad comments about incorrect tabbing. This guy is suppose to be pretty accurate on his AC/DC songs but he does everything by ear and doesn't tab anything out or recommend anything, he even knows all differences between the reco...

Re: String Size

I measured my low E last night and it measured .046 so I'll be going with the 10's when I hit the music store today. Now I just have to decide on the brand once I get there. As for the inotation. I understand the concept of the adjustment and I figure what better way to understand my new baby than t...
