Re: SSG Y14W32 - The Inquisitor

Thanks David.

When I was writing this, I was hearing a celtic folk song in my head. I'd love to be able to put music to it but the only software I have is Garageband and I can't for the life of me figure out how to use it.

SSG Y14W32 - The Inquisitor

On the eve of our battle, I began to question our mission. Morale was low as the enemy’s plan came to fruition. We were beaten down, nearly out of commission. When he appeared, the leader of our Inquisition. He said “Men, I see the fear in your eyes.” “It’s hard to be strong, while everything dies.”...

Re: Serious GAS right now

Definitely - but for me there's always a chance leaving an instrument. Since I play left handed, chances are fairly good that the instrument will be there later. But not always... Cool thing is that if you're interested and you have the ability to leave it there, you can go back and check out other...

Serious GAS right now

I fell on hard times and had to sell all my guitars and amps. I do miss playing though, especially since I found people who like to play as well. Anyway, I had nothing to do today and I tagged along with a friend who wanted to look at a resonator. Of course I'm not going to just sit there while he p...

Re: Semi-hollow Recommendations

Sorry guys. I was hoping to have a new guitar by now but the money I was expecting hasn't come in. Looks like it'll be a few months.

I might go with an acoustic as it doesn't require an amp. I've been looking into Rainsong guitars. I'll keep you posted!

Re: Semi-hollow Recommendations

I forgot about the Artcore series too. Not sure if there is an Ibanez dealer near me but I'll definitely look into it.

Thanks all.

Re: Semi-hollow Recommendations

Thanks Alan.

I forgot about the thin lines. I would prefer an ES but all $2K would get me is a Studio. I've only tried the Epiphone Studios and didn't like them. Not sure if the Gibsons are better. I could raise my budget to $3K but would be pushing it.

Semi-hollow Recommendations

Due to tough times, I had to sell all my guitars save one acoustic. It's unplayable due to the arrow holes unfortunately. The good news is the tough times are over and I'll be coming into some money. That being said, I'd like to get back into it. I'm looking into semi-hollows and possibly hollow bod...

How to repurpose an old guitar

Found a use for my old guitar as an archery target:

Do digital music stores hurt or help album sales?

Remember the good ol days when you went to buy an album and you only liked one song? Often you were stuck buying the whole CD/cassette for just the one song. When I did it, sometimes I discovered other songs I liked on the album but other times, not so much. Since digital download stores such as iTu...

Re: Y13W18 Birth Certificate

Lyrically, I like it as it's pretty simple and bare bones. It definitely works. Reading the lyrics, I hear a slow a slow soft ballad. I did give the song a listen to and the tempo was faster than what I was expecting but it works. The brass in the intro is a nice touch. The only thing I'd suggest is...

Thinking of taking up violin

With the injuries I sustained from a car accident, I'm finding it more and more difficult to hold a guitar. I've been thinking of taking up the violin and getting lessons and was wondering if anyone knew how well the skills from guitar translate.

Thanks!

Re: I did a bad thing...

Thanks for taking the time to read all. I've recovered from the accident as much as I will recover which isn't fully. Once I get some money coming in, I may look at new electrics. I now have back problems so weight is going to be a huge factor so I can play longer. In lieu of the guitar, I have been...

I did a bad thing...

It's finally come to this, I'm down to a single acoustic guitar. Since my car accident, I've been in debt and struggling financially. It happens when you are off for 4 months on sick leave and have to put your rent on your credit card. Over the last year, I've sold off all my electrics: my Firebird,...
