Re: Best loop pedal to play guitar and sing through

Well there's the cheaper Boss RC30 - has a lot of cool features including effects, the ability to drop in and out alternate loops. I have digitech jam-man stereo but you have less control over the loops. I'd probably get the RC30 if I wanted to gig, the RC300 is ridiculously good though. It's also s...

Re: Learning Guitar Difficulties

Well, I can read music Notes - however, I understand there have been brilliant musicians who cannot. Many early New Orleans jazz guys didn't read music (a book I am reading which is the words of jazz musicians in interview come across this point again and again). Wes Montgomery, Jimi Hendrix and Pau...

Re: Parody Song Liabilities?

Agree with Cnev.. it's unlikely the person you are talking about will ever hear it. I did one a while back about a certain celebrity, she never saw it and I had so few views that I doubt she ever would have. It would really have to become an internet sensation of some kind.

Re: Where should I start?

1.) Check you strum correctly -I can't tell you how many times I have had students who don't keep their hand moving to the crotchet or quaver beat. You can watch people strumming on youtube to see if you are doing it right. 2.) Learn a whole song - chose something simple with open chords and words t...

Re: Guitar stands research

This forum is pretty dead atm you may have to find answers elsewhere. My word of advice though is that I wouldn't think you would want to charge much more than a normal stand would cost. Us guitarists have many things we want (one being more guitars but also learning products and other accessories) ...

Re: Something solo attempt...

Ok it sounded weird at first but I played the chords to it - seems good - use a backing track so we can really hear it :)

You pay for this one - but it's really good - scales/arpeggios/chords/reverse chord finger I like it a lot though you can probably get something similar for free I think.

Re: learning mechanically vs. learning by feel

Along the same lines as notes - where you get to when you use the muscle memory - feel thing is that your hands will naturally start doing the work (sounds mad I know). To me at those times it is impossible to break down what you are doing while you are doing it - you are reacting to the music and i...

Re: Anyone play it straight... no pedals.

Most jazz guys can go a whole career without ever having the need to think of pedals. Although pedals were around in the 60s the amount of pedals most guitarists had on the floor was absolutely minimal compared to today. Hendrix would often gig with just a fuzz pedal and a wah.

Re: Guys, I need a hand with the modes

Right now I am learning with Robert Conti (online tutor who has done Dvd's so some people would say that is teaching yourself - I don't agree but there we go) He doesn't know anything about modes - and that is okay with me. He's the kind of guy that is so good that he probably has used modes by acci...

Re: backing tracks with vocals

Is it just for practice - or to record? If you need to practice without vocals something like tuxguitar/guitar pro would allow you to have the melody playing if its a guide you are needing. On the other hand if you have a track with no vocals heres a crazy thing, record the vocals onto it in Cubase ...
