My thoughts would be looking into spending the money on a good all tube amp, equalizer, and attenuator. Then think about changing pickups.

I run most of my amps at their saturation point and I use dummyloads, attenuators, and equalizes. Yes, once you get a taste of and overdriven all tube it's rough trying to play on a solidstate amp.

I used one of those many years ago. I recall it mixed both channels together. If it has the pluggin on the back for the pedal. You need to be carefull plugging it in and out cause they had a real problem of shorting out. If you want to get some get tone from it add a power soak or attenuator. Which ...

Lots of great suggestions here. There's a time and place's to play loud. The real trick is harness the power to a lower volume. I run 100's of watts which come out the other end at line level. It wouldn't take me much to completely over power the sound system. It wouldn't be the same and it would so...

There are many different ways to look at this. what sounds and works good for you is a great start. Another thing to look into would be "Chord Voicings". which is inverting notes within the chord. These are important to learn and practice.

Here's a few kits that I've had the opportunity to play on. They sound great. If you really want to get creative a low watt stereo hifi tube amp can make people wonder. I have an old Dynaco stereo hifi tube amp that brings out some fantastic overdrive tube harmonics. For speakers I'm a celestion boy...
