Re: Washburn Idol 66 PRO

NEZTOK, thanks for the reply. You're not the first person I've heard complain about the Buzz Feiten System. I have an acoustic that came stock with it, so I guess I'm just used to it. I've been looking for an inexpensive yet decent quality lefty guitar equipped with humbuckers and I ran across this ...

Washburn Idol 66 PRO

Hi, all sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with the WashburnWI 66 PRO models. I recently saw a used lefty model for sale and I'm wondering how much they usually sell for now? I believe they've been discontinued for a while now, but thats all I ...

Re: Noteboat's "Tetra Chords"

Wow. The bit about relating the overlapping tetrachords to the circle of fifths is very interesting! Thank you for the response and clearing up my confusion, Noteboat. Please stop whatever you're currently doing and write a follow up book.

Noteboat's "Tetra Chords"

I'm re-reading Noteboat's theory book. It's a great book and, as my understanding of music and my guitar skills improve, I get something new from it each time I read it. I have a question concerning his mention of the 2 symmetrical tetra-chords of the major scale, and the 2 asymmetrical tetra-chords...

Gibson SG

I have a 2004 Gibson SG Standard in Natural Burst finish. I'm going to take some pics of it this weekend and post them next week. I'm a lefty, but the guitar is right-handed. After I bought it I had a luthier modify the nut and set it up for stringing it lefty. It's now re-strung righty, but a new o...

Re: delay

I don't mean to hijack the post, but since the Line 6 Echo Park and DL-4 were brought up, which one would you guys recommend? I've been in the market for a delay for some time now and have heard nothing but great things about Line 6 delays, but I'm not sure if I should save some money by going with ...

Re: Palm Muting... so what's the trick??

Takamineprincess, I can relate to your dilemma. I also had a really tough time learning how to palm-mute well. As Dylan said in point 2 of his reply, the trick is making sure the side of your hand (not really the palm) is stationary while you're picking. Don't feel bad. This is NOT an easy technique...

Re: Help this Left-handed beginner!

Hi, Carmine. Welcome to the board. I won't try to tell you whether or not you should play left-handed, but I'm a lefty and really wish I'd have learned to play right-handed instead. There's a MUCH bigger selection of right-handed guitars, and even when you can find a lefty model, it's often more exp...

AK, theyre all great looking guitars, but that Warmoth SG really caught my eye. Did you do all the work yourself?

Re: Has anyone installed a jld bridge dr.

I have a Garrison 6-string acoustic. Garrison is no longer in business, but they used to make acoustic guitars with a fiberglass cage (or whatever you call the skeleton of an acoustic) rather than wood. It's slightly bellying under the bridge, and the back of the bridge is coming unglued from the so...

Tom, do you ever NOT know the answer to a music theory question? I got your book as a Christmas gift (it was the one thing on my list) and love the fact you really do start with the very basics. Thanks.

Re: Delay pedal opinions

No confusion at all, I knew you were comparing the Line 6 pedals. And I know the picture question seems kind of odd. I was reading a magazine with a lot of articles about boutique pedals and do it yourself stuff and there was a pic of a guy in it that looked a little like yours. I've seen some of yo...

Re: Delay pedal opinions

Gnease, thanks a lot for your input. I may have to go with the Echo Park. I've been going back and forth between it and the Boss DL-6 for a couple months now. On a side note...the picture you're using in your message box looks really familiar. Was it used in a guitar magazine recently?

Re: Delay pedal opinions

Moonrider, no I won't be using the pedal for any shows. I was considering the MXR pedal after the great reviews I read, but I think it's a little too 'bare bones' for me. Since I can't really afford a bunch of different delays, I'd like the one I get to be capable of several different sounds. Gnease...
