Re: Some words on composition

btw I think its totally fine to have your instrument right there while your composing trying different things, thats what I do. I just meant to be sure and think about what your doing, when you listen to really great composers, great improvisors or really great songwriters they always sound like the...

Re: Some words on composition

A few points to add that I think are important. 1. Unless you are a very strong composer, you should generally try to write your melody first and then write the words. It is much easier to listen to your melody and decide what the emotion of the song is and then right the words accordingly than it i...

Re: just starting songwriting and need some feedback

Re: just starting songwriting and need some feedback

Hey its kind of hard to judge lyrics without hearing the music but heres what I think. Better you cut me with some truth than keep me honest with your lies The instincts I never follow warned me of silences and unjust sighs My mother said to me better to love and lose than be a drifter with no ties ...

The Words You Wanted Me To Say (MP3)

www.myspace.com/deepfreeze123 The Words You Wanted Me To Say Well i've come to find, that I don't mind it much When you come lay around here And all my grand designs, to spend our time, Couldn't account for you. You look a trite confused, Say your being used. You say you wanted more. And I think I c...

Re: Words You Say Video

Hey that sounds great, its catchy and I really believe it. Your guitar sounds like it might be slightly out of tune, but your voice that definitely wasn't! Great singing! I just posted a song with a suspiciously similar name haha let me know what you think.

Re: Midnight Sun

I like your imagery, the lyrics are very singable also. How about a mp3 or some chords so we can hear it? I had an old song with the line "the sun was high in the sky, somewhere strait down, under the high noon of the night is how I roll around"

Re: WHO WANTS TO HEAR MY SONGS!!!!

Well I am surprised no one else has commented. Metal isn't really my thing, but my main problem with it is the screaming vocals so i've got no problems with your music...for now :P haha seriously though your very talented, from what I listened to you sounded very structured and well thought out. And...

That is so weird I have had that same rhythm floating around in my head for the past month. It fools you into thinking its in 7/8 because of the stresses its a cool one. I guess were having the same dream haha. I like it.

Re: Battlefield of Hope (rock)

Hey buddy its been a long time. Wow I remember the first song you posted with vocals a year or so ago, you've gotten very good at singing. I really like the tone of your voice, it kind of reminds me of the lead singer of radiohead. A little constructive criticism, there are many times when your hold...

So Long (1st try at jazz)

This is just a rough cut of my first attempt at jazz. I know your not supposed to play alone but im not done writing the melody yet. I think everyting voice leads pretty nicely though, definetly never written anything like this before.

Re: Come To Town (Original) (Work In Progress)

Hey, I like this a lot. I see what cnev is saying about the riff after get down. Its not that it doesn't work, but it is not what I would have played (where as in most other parts including the lead at the beginning you sound very intentional) Great job your stuff is some of the best on here I think...
